This is a free and secure service provided by the New York State Comptroller's Office of Unclaimed Funds.
There is no charge for processing claims or returning funds.- Deadline

- How to claim
All claims can be filed online within minutes, and most are paid within 30 days.
The Comptroller contacts you if documents are needed. U.S. citizens enter their Social Security number on the Comptroller's own claim site to verify identity. Enter it there only, never on a site that contacted you.- Finders (location services)
- Optional. The maximum fee allowed by law is 15% of the cash or securities recovered, the agreement must be signed by the owner and notarized, and it must state that you can get the funds from the Comptroller without paying a fee. The Comptroller won't take the fee out of your refund.
